5 TEST DAY Tips to Boost Your SAT Score
You'll want to take notes on these...
The SAT is one of the most important tests you will take in your high school career. This standardized test is designed to assess your readiness for college and can impact your chances of getting into your dream school. While studying for the SAT can seem daunting, there are some simple things you can do on test day to help boost your scores.
1. Get a good night's sleep:
This may seem like an obvious one, but it's important to get plenty of rest before the big day. A tired brain won't be able to focus as well as it needs to in order to do well on the exam. So, be sure to hit the hay early the night before and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the SAT.
2. Eat a healthy breakfast:
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day for a reason. Fueling your body with healthy food will give you the energy you need to power through a long test. Avoid sugary cereals and pastries that will leave you feeling sluggish; instead, opt for a protein-packed breakfast that will keep you feeling full and focused throughout the exam.
3. Bring snacks and drinks:
The SAT is a long test, so it's important to bring snacks and drinks to keep your energy levels up. Unhealthy snacks will only make you feel worse, so be sure to pack something nutritious that will tie you over until lunchtime. And don't forget water! Keeping your body hydrated will help you stay alert and focused during the exam.
4. Stay positive:
It's easy to get stressed out before such an important test, but it's important to stay positive and calm on test day. If you start to feel overwhelmed, take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that you have prepared as best as you can. Trust in your abilities and believe that you will do great!
5. Take your time:
With so much pressure to do well, it can be tempting to try to race through the exam. However, this is not advisable! Rushing through the questions will only lead to more mistakes being made. Be sure to pace yourself and take your time in order to increase your chances of getting more questions right.
